How to use this as a beginner
Hearing a sentence once, with no time to read what it meant,
teaches almost nothing. So beginner mode gives every line as long as you need
— and the clock is not running while you take it.
- Ивана asks one question, and the lesson stops by itself.
The line stays on screen in all three layers: as she said it, how to say it, and what it means. Read it as often as you like, and press
Hear it again as often as you like too — that is your own machine
playing it back, not a new recording.
- Say it out loud. Nothing is listening. The microphone is
closed during the break. Get it wrong five times in a row: nobody hears it,
nothing is corrected, nothing is charged.
- Then have her ask it again — and answer for real.
Same question, same words, out loud, with the meaning now understood. That
is the repetition that sticks, and it is the only one of the three steps
that costs anything.
You pay for talking, not for reading. The meter
stops the moment she does and starts again when you answer. Playing a line
back costs nothing, and a sentence is translated once and never twice. An hour
at your desk is often twenty-five minutes of credit — cheaper by the hour than
talking flat out, and you learn more from it.
Afterwards you keep the whole lesson as a PDF, and a practice
tape: her questions with room to answer after each one, to drill with in
the car.
